Asus Flip CR1 Chromebook - For students starting in September 2024

We have chosen the Asus Flip CR1 Chromebook for our incoming students. The reasons for selecting this device are:

Chromebooks are designed to work with Google Classroom which is used extensively at Coombe.

All the devices are managed in the cloud by Coombe IT Services.

Touchscreen, reversible 2-in-1 design means they can be used in laptop, tent or tablet modes for greater flexibility.
Robust and reinforced rubber wrapped protective guard/bumper reduces the impact from any accidents.
Military-grade durability testing ensures lasting durability and better reliability.
Easy hold design, with two strategically placed grips to provide better holding traction and reduce any slipping incident.
Spill and tamper resistant keyboard makes typing easy and quick, while protecting against minor spillages.
A 12-hour battery life to last the whole school day.
Software and security updates until June 2030.
